Child and Adolescent Counseling

Being a kid these days is harder than most of us adults realize. My approach to working with children and adolescents is to connect with them on their level through honesty, humor, story telling, and exploration of the problems in their lives. I strive to infuse lots of authenticity and empathy into our sessions. This approach is informed by my experiences as a former Family Counselor for the Snohomish County Juvenile Justice System working with troubled youth. The last thing a young person needs is for me to be “another adult telling them what to do”, and I aim to make them feel listened to and understood, and to arm them with the skills and insights to navigate the treacherous waters of youth in our confusing, complicated world.
