Testimonials:
“James Ullrich is a rare combination of many great things. His personality can be very disarming, but never come at the cost of his intellect and the deep caring for everyone who is in front of him. I’ve had the privilege of having his help on cases and have always found his help and point of view to be invaluable. As a therapist myself, I would recommend James to anyone and everyone in search of a kind, empathetic, down to earth voice in a troubled sea.” –T.M.
“James is a compassionate, down-to-earth person with a deep passion for helping others. Upon meeting James there is an immediate felt sense of honesty and compassion. His authentic warmth is underscored by his steady spirit and dedication. James is a trustworthy soul and surefooted companion whom clients feel secure confiding in and wrestling with the dark and difficult parts of life.” –K.H.
"James is my go-to counselor for adolescents. I receive a lot of referrals for male adolescents and boys, but because I don't treat the, I need to know who will have the right personality, clinical expertise, and disposition to refer to. James is personable, knowledgeable, and is passionate about providing the best care possible. I never have to question if I am sending teens his way. I know they will get the best care possible." –H.D.
After completing my graduate education I trained in an evidence-based therapy model called Functional Family Therapy. I worked as a Family Therapist in the Snohomish County Juvenile Justice System, counseling troubled adolescents and their families. This gave me a solid background in counseling adolescents boys and young men struggling to find their place in the world. This family systems expertise often applies to my couples work as well.
